Beginner Tutorials

Would you like to learn acoustic guitar but don’t know where to begin?
Well then this guitar instructions editorial is for you. Today I want to show you the 6 steps to play the guitar.

1) Open Chords. They make use open strings and pressed notes and are often played near the nut of the guitar. Open chords are extremely used by guitarist of all skill levels simply because they sound awesome. Learn a few of these per week and get the chord changes to be smooth. You should be able to learn them all in as little as 4 weeks and that will empower you to play many contemporary tunes already.

2) Strumming techniques to bring some life into your songs. I advice to play on the beat till you get more confident with a down-stroke and, as you get into it, start using random strums on the up-beat using up-strokes. If you follow this advice it will help you keep your synch and the beat.

3) Play a few tunes that have been written with open chords and play with the CD. There are many songs in the pop repertoire that fit this criterium. Find the CD and play-along. That is such a beneficial exercise as you will be jamming with a professional band and will actually learn a lot from it.

4) Enhance your chord knowledge by learning all the 7th & sus chords – Open Chords shapes – and learn to play a few tunes that utilize them.

5) Finger picking patterns are often used by guitar players. All you do is use your fingers to pluck the strings instead of a pick and that has quite a distinctive sound. Practice a few sequences at the beginning in order to master the right technique, and eventually try to your own patterns.

6) Lastly start practicing more intricate chords like F and, eventually, the Barre’ Chords starting from the E & A shape. Barre’ Chords might be a a little more difficult than the Open Chords but they are quite important as will allow you  to play any chor everywhere on the guitar.

That’s all you need to know for this article and if you follow these guitar instructions you are going to see results very fast. It’s obviously advisable for you to buy a tutorial that can direct you implement these 6 points but these are the important points you’ll need to stick to when you to learn acoustic guitar.
